[佛教]万寿寺

万寿寺      万寿寺在海淀区苏州街广源问西侧，北靠中国大剧院，东临紫竹院公园。万寿寺建于明万历五年（1577年），为明清两代皇家寺院，清乾隆年间（1736-1795）高宗将万寿寺定为皇太后祝寿的庆典场所，故先后两次进行大规模扩建和修葺。光绪年间（1875-1908）为庆贺慈禧六十大寿，又进行第三次重修。该寺经过三次修建后形成了集寺庙、行宫、园林为一体的古建筑群。

万寿寺庭院景观
　  万寿寺的院子里有古银杏，据说是一雌一雄，距今有400多年的历史了。因为供奉了无量寿佛，包括乾隆也曾经3次在这里为其母亲祝寿。所以树周围挂了很多祈福的红丝牌子，基本都是为家人祈福、祈寿的。自成一景，在这一片古老的景色中，分外夺目。

万寿寺周边建筑

万寿寺历史沿革      万寿寺始建于唐朝，称聚瑟寺。明万历五年（1577年）重修，万历皇帝之母慈圣李太后出资，司礼监冯保督建而成，改名万寿寺，成为皇家寺庙。主要用做藏经卷，后经板、经卷移至番经厂和汉经厂，万寿寺便成为明代帝后游西湖（昆明湖）途中用膳和小憩的行宫。清朝时又经几次重修扩建，西路于乾隆朝时改为行宫，遂成为规模宏大的皇家重寺。清乾隆十六年和二十六年，清高宗弘历曾两次在这里为其母祝寿。清光绪二十年（1894年），慈禧太后重修万寿寺行宫，在西跨院增修了千佛阁和梳妆楼，形成最后格局。当年，慈禧往来于颐和园与紫禁城之间，都要在万寿寺拈香礼佛，在西跨院行宫吃茶点，故有小宁寿宫之称。1934年前后，万寿寺的前部曾辟为东北难民子弟学校。1985年，中路辟为北京艺术博物馆。
